Waiting for Superman

She says, “Yeah, he’s still coming, just a little bit late
He got stuck at the laundromat washing his cape”
She’s just watching the clouds roll by and they spell her name like Lois Lane
And she smiles, oh the way she smiles

She’s talking to angels, counting the stars
Making a wish on a passing car
She’s dancing with strangers, falling apart
Waiting for Superman to pick her up
In his arms, In his arms
Waiting for Superman
To lift her up and take her anywhere
Show her love and climbing through the air
Save her now before it’s too late tonight
Oh, like a speeding light
And she smiles

I wanna be the girlfriend that can last and push through the tough times.  I wanna be the girl in this song; waitin for Superman (John) to come home from savin (teachin the Gospel) the world (the people of TN) and sweep me off my feet.  But I know it doesnt work like that.  Before John left, he told me that he was always gonna remember me for my laugh and my smile.  So I guess Lois Lane and I have something in common.

Missions

We're all faced with different obstacles that sometimes make serving missions seem difficult. To those who have such thought and feelings: if you don't now have a testimony, you can gain one on a mission. Your girlfriend/boyfriend will be all right. You can learn the scriptures and discussions well enough to be effective. You'll have the courage you need to talk to strangers. You can be obedient. You can do it.

Some of you may be fearful about your ability because to this point in your life you have struggled. Perhaps you've not been academically gifted or socially prominent. I agree that being socially graceful, well educated, experienced in leadership, and able to speak well are useful talents for doing missionary work. But there is something beyond these which can give a missionary his/her real power.

Lorenzo Snow

“When you find yourselves a little gloomy, look around you and find somebody that is in a worse plight than yourself; go to him and find out what the trouble is, then try to remove it with the wisdom which the Lord bestows upon you; and the first thing you know, your gloom is gone, you feel light, the Spirit of the Lord is upon you, and everything seems illuminated.”

God Speed

Yesterday, My boyfriend John, entered into the Provo MTC.  There he will stay for a week and a half, then fly out on Dec 31 to the people of Knoxville, Tennessee.  I can't say that I don't miss him, because I do, but I can say that I am so Proud of him for already having the decision to give two years of his life to the Lord.  Here are a few of my favorite pictures that he and his family took yesterday.
That's what a Proud Dad looks like

Dieter F. Uchtdorf

"My dear sisters, I have a simple faith. I believe that as you are faithful and diligent in keeping the commandments of God, as you draw closer to Him in faith, hope, and charity, things will work together for your good. I believe that as you immerse yourselves in the work of our Father—as you create beauty and as you are compassionate to others—God will encircle you in the arms of His love. Discouragement, inadequacy, and weariness will give way to a life of meaning, grace, and fulfillment."

What!? You think I'm cute???

Infants or Babies are some of the cutest things that I've ever seen in my life; they're miracles sent from heaven to us to love, to cherish and to hold on to.  Day by day they grow and learn by what they see and hear around them.  Its amazing to me that this baby in the picture used to be me, and look at me now...A Beautiful baby Girl.
In 18 short years this is what I've transformed into: like coal into a diamond.  Through trials and tribulations, something Beautiful has transformed.  I was amazed and in awe when John, my loving boyfriend, first told me that I was cute...I cant wait until he returns from serving the Lord to see what I've transformed and grown from in the next 3 years.

Accept it & Have Faith in HIM

The hard part is acceptin that you're not in charge and that The Lord will take care of you.

John Rayburn

"I never imagined in a million years that I would ever find someone who loves me as much as my heart is capable of loving them.. I was never a big believer in happily ever afters... I never thought I would feel this way about a lover AND a best friend, at the same time.. I didn't believe that such a happy heart was in store for me... And this guy proved all of that wrong. I'm the happiest girl on earth, and two and a half years...that's nothing, when I've got an eternity full of complete BLISS with him ahead."

Meghan would wear this.... O.o

I'm Giving Christ My Son - Author Unknown

This year for Christmas I skipped the sales after Thanksgiving.
The thrill just wasn't there.
No pictures taken with Santa Claus,
My decorating has no flair.
Two suits and socks...no fun.
I've bought him all white clothes because...
This year I'm giving Christ my son.

I've spent more time in the temple,
Felt strength come from His words.
I've reread November's Ensign,
And my testimony stirred.
Our family prays more frequently.
My tears are quick to run.
Abraham seems close because,
This year I'm giving Christ my son.

I wonder how those Lamanite mothers,
Gave their sons to war?
Or how the pioneers chose Zion,
Their sacrifice was so much more.
My loss will be his presence,
I'll miss his smile a ton.
For those two years we will pray for him,
I'm giving Christ my son.

I stare at his face when he's not looking.
I memorize his eyes, their shine.
He's always hungered for the part of him,
That makes his soul divine.
The stories and lessons he always heard,
His choice and mine are one.
I'll put my faith in God's hand,
This year, I'm giving Him my son.

Past gifts have lost their glitter.
I think I finally understand.
Christ's birth should be celebrated,
By giving him a hand.
It's because I know Christ lives and reigns,
That all his packing's done.
My gift has taken years to make,
This year, I'm giving Christ my son.

The hands I washed, the hands I held,
The hands I taught to pray;
Now knock on doors to find the ones
Who will listen to what he'll say.
Because I know Christ needs him,
Until all the gathering's done
My gift has taken years to make
This year...I'm giving Christ my son.

Live Like You Believe - Jenny Phillips

Someone Needs Your STAR - Jenny Phillips

You were born to reach Eternal Life

Once upon a time
A child was born into this life
Heaven could be seen in her eyes
There was no doubt she was divine
And if you are still you will feel the truth
That the princess in this wondrous story is you

It's your time
It's your destiny to shine
So arise
Be true to the royal
That's inside of you
Don't settle for the story that
The world would have you write
You were born to reach eternal life
Let faith fill every chapter
Let the Savior lead you to
Happily ever after

When the forests fills with darkness
And wolves seek your soul
Just know
You are simply in the place between
Your once upon a time and your triumph in the end

It's your time
It's your destiny to shine
So arise
Be true to the royal
That's inside of you
Don't settle for the story that
The world would have you write
You were born to reach eternal life
Let faith fill every chapter
Let the Savior lead you to
Happily ever after

To Do List...

TRUCKS =))
