Friends

Friends are like balloons:  Once you let them go, you might not get them back. Sometimes we get so busy with our own lives and problems that we may not even notice that we've let them fly away. Sometimes we are so caught up in who's right and who's wrong that we forget what's right and wrong. Sometimes we just don't realize what real Friendship means until it is too late. I don't want to let that happen so I'm going to tie you to my heart so I never lose you.

I AM STILL THE LIGHT

Twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
they were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say.
they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
"where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
"this is heaven." declared a small boy. "we're spending Christmas at God's house."
when what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring
those children all flew into the arms of their King
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.
and as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad."
then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe
then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
"Let My power and presence re-enter this land!"

then He and the children stood up without a sound.

Mama, this is ME

The best part was that I received a new experience and gain more knowledge....plus I got to hang out with my friends ;)

SOOO WORTH IT!!!!

Today I got to go see how Catholics and Muslims worship.  I also got to see some PHENOMENAL places: Capital Building, Art Museum, Mosque, Madeline Cathedral, and Temple Square.  I even learned that the Salt Lake City Temple was based off of Gothic Architecture....how Freaking LEGIT is that!?

Workin Farmer Style


A Story Worth Reading

Our 14-year-old dog Abbey died last month. The day after she passed away my 4-year-old daughter Mer...edith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so, and she dictated these words:

Dear God,

Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.
I hope you will play with her. She likes to swim and play with balls. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her you will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.

Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.' Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:

Dear Meredith,

Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help and I recognized her right away.

Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.

Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I'm easy to find. I am wherever there is love.

Good News!!!

Well, it's official!! I have some amazing but shocking news!! I'M EXPECTING!!! A little under 7 weeks and counting. I know, I'm shocked too. I can barely believe it. I wasn't going to post about it but since you guys are my family and friends, I wanted to make it official. I'm too overwhelmed to keep it a secret!! Who would have though that ME of all people would be expecting!! But I am!!!! We are expecting Santa Claus in just 7 weeks :) Let's see who reads the whole status. Megan's Recipe

1 tsp of Olive Oil
1 tsp of Milk
1 tsp of Vanilla
2 T of sugar

Mix together, then scrub on your lips and hands for a minute.  Rinse.

Results:  Hands and lips smell like sugar cookies and makes extremely soft.

I Am Grateful

I'm grateful for the experiences that I go through to make me a better and stronger person, but I'm also very grateful for the Friends that God gave me in my life.  While sliding for the first time on ice; Tasha Wilkinson and Tom Perry helped me to know that I can always pray to the Lord for help, even when I'm driving, freaking out and sliding all over the road.

Snowfall

On January 23, 2012 I posted my first blog entry.  I've come a long way since then, and amazingly 137 blog-posts later, I'm talking about the same thing.  Last winter we didn't have very much snow, it didn't even snow on Christmas.  The snow didn't stick until January 23, but this year it snowed hard and heavy on November 9. 

Hopefully we'll receive a White Christmas this year.

you could bring to the table. After that, you got up regularly to share your beliefs and things that inspired you. I've watched you do the same in my group Shine. You have come out of your shell, in hopes of helping others. You are a darling girl, with such a good heart, and such strong beliefs. I hope you'll stick to what you so often shared about. I hope you are continuing to reach out to those who need a hand up. I want you to know that sometimes, what we do seems so small; almost worthless at times. But you never know how one small act of kindness can create a ripple effect. Keep going about doing goodness; it made a difference to me. Sticky Mess

I Refuse to jump into something when I cant see what's in it.  I have have no idea how deep it is or if I will get stuck...like tar.


So I have 5 simple rules that I follow when it comes to the subject of dating.
Things to look for in a guy:

  1. Does he hold and RESPECT his Priesthood? 
  2. Is he a Return Missionary? 
  3. Will he take me to the Temple? 
  4. Do I feel comfortable when I'm with him? 
  5. Can I be my TRUE self? 
  6. Does he act the same way around his friends as he acts around me?
